ADC-NJ applauds New Jersey’s two Senators on their efforts in reaching a fair and worthy Immigration bill.

Clifton, NJ | July 5, 2007 | -The New Jersey Chapter of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC-NJ) applauds the efforts of our two Senators in working to find a fair and just reform package on immigration rights.  Senator Lautenberg’s and Senator Menendez’s efforts reflect their dedication to preserving the great American tradition of welcoming the masses to these great shores. Their efforts to reach across the aisle in a bipartisan way to ensure that our laws and borders are respected while also advocating for the legitimate rights of immigrants should be commended.

In particular, we would like to thank Senator Menendez for his continued focus on ensuring that the family oriented provisions of our current immigration laws remain the law of the land. Without these provisions, many of our families would not have reached this great land that we all call home.

“We encourage our Senators and the Congressional delegation to continue to advocate for immigration reform bills that honor our traditions of being the one place on earth that welcomes all who seek freedom and opportunity to build a better future”, Said Salaheddin Mustafa, President of ADC-NJ.
